The CPS 2700 is a great gun. It has many notable features, and can do very well in almost any situation. It’s comfortable to hold, and though some say it’s too heavy, the average sized person won’t have much trouble with it. It’s very large compared the guns I’m used to, and it has the power to back its size up.
The CPS 2700 has three nozzles, 2x, 5x, and 10x. The 2x has a decent shot time, and delivers a bit of a sting. The 5x is a very well rounded nozzle that can soak its target instantly and from a distance. Actually, all three of my gun’s nozzles managed to hit or come close to hitting 40’. As for the 10x, it feels similar to the 5x, and accomplishes the same things. Though, of course, is thicker and will soak a lot quicker.
If you’re looking to strike terror in the hearts of your opponents, then you have the option of taking the nozzle selector off. This unleashes a mighty blast, at least equivalent to 20x. A word of warning: On my 2700, the nozzle started leaking after I put the selector back on. I resorted to replacing the screw with a much larger one to prevent leaks, and I haven’t taken it off since.
If the power of this gun isn’t good enough for you, then perhaps the capacity is? With nearly 4.5L reservoir, and with an 800mL PC, you’ll rarely run out of water. Of course, that doesn’t mean you should keep it set on 10x for the duration of the game. What it does mean is that you’ll only be outlasted by the largest of backpacks and the longest of shot times.
Despite all of the great things I have said, it does have its flaws. The main one is weight. When it’s full, it contains over 5L of water, which will make it very heavy. Like I said, it’s not as heavy as some will tell you, but it will hinder running until you get accustomed to it.
Another flaw is how fragile the gun is. Externally it’s very solid, except for the pump, which is in a very inviting spot to break. Internally, it almost prevents modifications. The trigger valve is so thin, that even the slightest power boost could be enough to break it. This means that if you are willing to k-mod it, make sure you reinforce the crap out of it.
Overall, the CPS 2700 is always a wise investment. It has the huge capacity (in fact, it’s the highest capacity of any single-piece gun yet to be released), great power, and funky colours (whether that’s good or bad is up to you). Just be careful with it.
Pros: Powerful, good range, decent shot times, good capacity.
Cons: Somewhat heavy, fragile internals, evil soaker-breaking monsters love attacking the pump.
